AI Value Accelerator (AIVA)

The AI Value Accelerator (AIVA) is GuideMode’s framework for systematically identifying and removing bottlenecks in your AI value delivery pipeline. Rather than asking “are we ready for AI?” it asks “where are we blocked, and what would unblock us?”

The AIVA Framework

AIVA combines two complementary lenses to diagnose and address constraints:

Value Stream

Four phases of value delivery: Discovery, Delivery, Validation, and Foundations. Each phase can be Blocked, Constrained, Flowing, or Accelerated. Learn more →

Six layers of organizational capability: Strategy, People, Ways of Working, Technical Platform, Governance, and External Interfaces. Learn more →

How They Work Together

The Value Stream shows where value flows (or stalls). The Capability Lens reveals why.

Value Stream × Capability Lens = Targeted Interventions

Example: If Discovery is Constrained (Value Stream), the Capability Lens helps identify root causes:

  • Strategy: Unclear AI strategy or use case prioritization?
  • People: Lack of AI skills in product/research roles?
  • Ways of Working: No experimentation culture?
  • Technical Platform: No sandbox environments for prototyping?
  • Governance: Overly restrictive data access policies?
  • External: Missing vendor partnerships or market intelligence?

Each phase of the value stream has measurable flow states:

Blocked Work cannot progress; critical dependencies unmet
Constrained Work progresses slowly; bottlenecks limit throughput
Flowing Work moves steadily; predictable delivery
Accelerated Work moves faster than baseline; compounding improvements

Capability Maturity

Each capability layer is assessed across five dimensions, providing 30 total capability dimensions. This granularity enables precise intervention targeting.
